The United States Courthouse was originally constructed as a United States Post Office in 1933. The Neo-Classical Revival design is framed by eight ionic columns. The Courthouse was constructed of coral rock mined from the Florida Keys. It is one of only two buildings in Florida constructed in this manner; the other is the United States Post Office in Key West.
