Glades County Courthouse, Moore Haven, Florida

The Glades County Courthouse, a beautiful red brick structure, is located in the center of Moore Haven. Its tranquil grounds, surrounded by ancient oaks, belie its history. The Courthouse was destroyed in 1926 when Lake Okeechobee flooded the area in the midst of a hurricane. It was rebuilt in 1929 and stands today as a reminder of Florida's bygone days.
