Careers

Magnus frequently receives inquiries from individuals interested in working with us. The following information has been prepared pertaining to career opportunities with Magnus. The field is diverse and Magnus is careful to selectively hire properly trained individuals for specific positions; not all firms in the industry are as selective. Our staff members must be a good fit for the Magnus organization and have the personality to work with demanding clients.

Magnus hires individuals with degrees in psychology or the social sciences for research positions. Knowledge of research methods, statistics, and report writing are required. Familiarity with the law is important. Flexibility, social skills, and the ability to thrive despite travel and long work days, including weekends, are required of all employees.

Students considering a career as a jury consultant should pursue a Ph.D. degree in social psychology, psychology and the law, or in a joint degree in psychology and law (e.g., Ph.D. and J.D.). Support positions typically require a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in psychology or social sciences.

From time to time, Magnus has openings for the positions listed below. Individuals with relevant training and experience are encouraged to contact Magnus and to leave a curriculum vita or resume on file for when openings occur. Candidates for Consultant positions are encouraged to include writing or other work product samples. Magnus maintains applicant files and will refer to them when positions become available. Mock Juror
Magnus frequently receives calls from people wanting to be mock jurors. Being a mock juror is not a "career opportunity" at Magnus. Magnus randomly recruits mock juror participants for research, via cold calling. Magnus does not maintain a database of mock jurors to call upon for projects. We are willing to pass along names and contact information, including telephone numbers, county and state of residency, etc. to our jury recruiter who may or may not use this information when making cold calls. However, every mock jury participant will be screened for eligibility for any mock jury engagement. Submission of contact information in no way ensures that you will be called or used for any mock jury, ever.
